Where AI copy actually helps and where it quietly ruins your site
Six months of using it daily. It is excellent for first drafts of product descriptions, alt text, and meta descriptions at scale.
It is genuinely bad at anything requiring your specific proof — case study numbers, founder story, objection handling. Those pages convert worse every time I have tested a generated version against a written one.
Anyone measured this properly rather than by vibes?

We tested it on two near identical service pages. The written one converted at 4.1%, the generated one at 2.6% over about 1,800 sessions each. Small sample, but it matched the gut feeling.
Alt text and meta descriptions at scale is exactly right. 900 products would have taken a month by hand.
